As the Commander of the Israel Air Defense Forces from 2015-2018, Zvika Haimovich was at the helm when the David's Sling and Arrow 3 systems became operational.
He served as the Active Defense Wing Commander during Operation Pillar of Defense (2012) and Operation Protective Edge (2014). It was during this tenure that the Iron Dome system became operational.
BG Haimovich is a graduate of the Air War College, USA and the Israel National Defense College.
He holds a B.A. in Middle Eastern Studies from the Hebrew University, Jerusalem and an M.A. in Political Science and National Security from Haifa University.
Haimovich oversaw two successive Juniper-Cobra joint exercises between Israel and the United States.
