Major General Levavi served as a combat helicopter pilot in the Israel Air Force and later served for 34 years in the Israeli National police (INP).
He concluded his service as Deputy Commissioner in 2019.
Among other duties, he served as Chief of Operations, Chief of Policing, District Deputy and Spokesperson for the INP.
As head of the Police Operations Division, Levavi was responsible for operational preparedness for a number of scenarios, ranging from national emergency situations to day-to-day operational challenges.
As head of the Policing Division, he was responsible for the build-up and implementation of the INP's capabilities at sea, on land and in the air.
Levavi also held senior responsibility for the reinforcement and improvement of police relations with minority communities in Israel, and for the security of educational and strategic facilities within the country.
He has a bachelor’s in Political Science and a Masters of Business Administration.
He is a graduate of the FBI Crisis Negotiation Course and a graduate of the Wexner Foundation's Senior Executive Program at the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.
He is head of the National Resilience Department at Ono Academic College.
