Ambassador Pinhas Avivi is a former Senior Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Israel, where he was responsible for global, strategic and multilateral affairs.
He served as Israel's Ambassador to Chile, Colombia and Turkey.
Avivi also served as Deputy Director General in charge of the central Europe, Eurasia and Russia division, Deputy Director General and Head of the South America and the Caribbean Division, and Acting Deputy Director General and Head of the Middle East and Peace Process Division.
Ambassador Avivi was a member of the Monitoring Committee of the IDF Operation in Lebanon, Grapes of Wrath, and was a delegate to the Israel-Palestinian peace talks, including at the Wye Plantation.
